We have a date for Mario Kart 8! Sort of. Or at least a general timeframe.
The May 2014 release window is worldwide, moving the game’s projected “spring” release to “in about four months.” This is exciting news for Nintendo, since Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart Wii have both passed one million sales through the sales window of April 1st-December 31st, 2013.
While it may be a little later than some have hoped for—after all, May is “late spring” or “early summer,” depending on who’s asking—at least the date is no longer completely nebulous and we know it’s on the way.
