That’s right—we have a North American release date for Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and it’s coming our way on May 2nd. On the Nintendo Direct presentation today, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata mentioned that there will be a “huge number” of collectibles to track down inside the game, including a range of 8-bit keychains that showcase Kirby’s 20-year history with a variety of characters.
You’ll be able to find these inside the game, but also receive them through StreetPass—the character of Waddle Dee will appear in some levels to throw items to you! If you have a StreetPass tag, the item will be of greater value, and if the person you tagged also owns a copy of the game, you’ll receive a keychain. Oooh!
Iwata mentioned that there will be a few other collectible items in-game as well, along with special bonuses for players who find everything.
Now we just have to cross our fingers that Nintendo will realize it’s in their best interest to create real versions of those keychains for Club Nintendo…!
