Steel Empire Taking Over North America This Summer

The steampunk blaster title Steel Empire has launched in Japan, bringing tears of envy to steampunk fans all across North America… but wait, don’t reach for the tissues just yet! Starfish SD, the game’s publisher, has just confirmed that the game will be heading to North American 3DS’s through the eShop later this summer.

The game is actually based on a shooter (Mega Drive / Genesis), and isn’t the first remake. We’ve already seen it ported for the Game Boy Advance, and the game has quite the following based on its similar steampunk style to the anime film Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Deliberate? Debate amongst yourselves, please.

While there’s no firm date yet for release (or info about Europe—sorry, folks), summer really isn’t that far off (despite what the temperatures might say these days).

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
