The Mickeys Aren’t Hidden on This Special Edition 3DS XL

Hey now! North America will be receiving yet another special edition 3DS XL, and in the spirit of recent trends, it’ll be thematic and released in conjunction with the related game… but the console won’t include a copy of the game itself.

Yes, it’s a strange marketing tactic, but it’s hard to deny the appeal of these new 3DS XLs when you’ve been playing with a one-color system for several years. The new special edition is Mickey-themed, and will be released on April 11th alongside Disney Magical World.

The handheld will be exclusive to Wal-Mart, retailing at $199.96, and despite not including a copy of the game… it will have the logo & name of Disney Magical World all bright and shiny right on the shell.

The gold and white handheld has a 4GB SD card, as per usual. Ultimately, the thing still costs less than the Link Between Worlds special edition XL, and follows suit with the Yoshi’s New Island 3DS XL that recently hit store shelves.

Will you be upgrading your 3DS XL this month?
