Mario Kart TV Web App… Now Live!

Well, that didn’t take long. Mario Kart 8 is now out in Japan, and it was only a matter of hours before players took advantage of the new feature of saving, editing, and sharing video highlights through the Mario Kart TV app. Nintendo launched the app today, a feature that was announced to shareholders after the most recent Nintendo briefing on financial results.

Thus far, the app is working well, and the videos can be watched on both PCs and smartphones (or other deveices). You’ll be able to head to your region’s official website from the front page, and start viewing videos almost right away.

If you don’t want to watch right on the site, you can look at the original videos on YouTube or Miiverse, and links to all the videos can be posted on social media. Results for various viewing options can be filtered, and you can select things like which track you’d like to watch.

Those who log in with their Nintendo Network ID can see the videos posted by those on their Friend List, though logging in is not required to watch. Presently, the app doesn’t have stats for Time Trials or Tournaments, but we suspect this will be added in various updates.

Head on over and have a gander! à Mario Kart TV

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
