PAX Prime: First Impressions – Tumblestone (Wii U)

At first glance, Tumblestone looks like any other old puzzle game. When I first laid eyes on it, I thought, okay, a Tetris clone. Turns out not! Tumblestone is a fun puzzle game that’s quite addictive. It also requires a bit more forethought during gameplay.

Players can place only one block at a time during the timed matches, and you need to clear a set of 3 same-colored blocks each time, otherwise the ceiling will drop closer to the bottom of your screen (that’s bad). It’s a simple concept, but more complex than it sounds—I was thoroughly trounced on my first match.

It’s currently only headed to Steam, but  after speaking with Tumblestone’s Ty Taylor, it was clear that the team is enthusiastic about bringing it to the Wii U. Because of how delightful the game was, we wanted to show it off to you… and if you want to see it on the Wii U as well, perhaps head to www.tumblestonegame.com and show the developer some support and Nintendo love!

In the meantime, here’s a trailer for the game—enjoy!

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
