Disney Infinity 2.0 Announcement at Giant Bomb Panel

At last night’s Giant Bomb panel, attendees were surprised to learn that action game studio Ninja Theory has been recruited by Disney to work on the upcoming Disney Infinity 2.0.

Ninja Theory has been assisting lead developer Avalanche Software with the combat mechanics of the game, which won’t surprise those readers who know Ninja Theory as the studio behind Heavenly Sword and DmC, the Devil May Cry reboot. Ninja Theory is also working on their own new IP, Hellblade, for the PS4.

The news out of the panel has been confirmed by Disney Infinity’s EP, John Vignocchi, who Tweeted that “they have been working with us since February and are like family to our team at Avalanche and Disney.”

That’s a welcome surprise to those who are looking forward to Disney Infinity 2.0’s release in September, which introduces Marvel characters to the game franchise.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
