Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars This March

In today’s Nintendo Direct, we learned that the upcoming Mario vs. DK game will be called Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, and the eShop download only game will be a cross-buy for both the Wii U and 3DS. Yes, that’s right, it’s the first Nintendo cross-buy title, so if you buy it on one platform you’ll get it on the other for free (via download code, which you can keep or share with a friend).

The game itself is a strange mixture of puzzle / platformer / level editor, where you’ll guide a Mini Mario to the level exit—and of course create your own levels and share them with others. However, the new feature for this game comes in the form of “tips” where players can “tip” the creators of the user-made maps. These tips, in the form of stars, can then be used to buy new parts and items in the level creator.

It’s an intriguing new concept, and it all starts to play out on March 5th in North America for $19.99.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
