Dot Arcade Brightens Up Your Wii U on March 26th

You may have heard the news around the internet a while ago that James Montagna, a Wayforward employee of notable prominence, was working on a secret solo project… and that nobody had any idea what it was or what it might be about.

Well, the cat’s out of the bag as we know it’s called Dot Arcade, and it’s heading to the Wii U at the end of the week. It’s a simple arcade title, featuring three games that center around giving the player a reminder of what arcades were like back in the “golden age.”

Here are the three games found within Dot Arcade:

Mr. Snake: Literally, a game of snake… but with added obstacles to dodge (because snake didn’t get hard enough once the game progressed far enough…).

Dodge Club: Players take on the role of a dancer navigating a perilous dance floor!

Rally Driver: A racing game, with other cars to dodge as you zoom toward the finish line.

So, what’s the schtick? It’s that all of these titles are presented on an 8×8 dot matrix grid with retro look and feel. Sure, they’re simple, but the price tag is only $4.99—and surely you’d spend at least that much to play them in an arcade these days. A quarter doesn’t go as far as it used to!
