Ubisoft Announces More Games in Child of Light Universe Coming

Child of Light was a visually stunning release from Ubisoft that used the UbiArt engine we first saw in Rayman Origins. The game delivered a well received play experience, and became quite popular—with some physical retail copies even making it to the market.

Ubisoft’s Patrick Plourde has made some comments online suggesting that there are some “very cool projects in process set in the Child of Light universe.” The game was revealed last year to have been considered profitable enough—not to the point of Assassin’s Creed or anything, but enough to consider creating a sequel.

Apparently, Ubisoft was also so stunned and impressed by the work the Child of Light team did on the game that they became one of the core teams of Ubisoft Montreal—which means that its rumored sequel is being speculated upon all over the darn place. Sounds like we’ll see something, eventually… but will it come to Nintendo consoles? Child of Light did very well on the Wii U eShop charts, but you know what things are like when it comes to Ubisoft and Nintendo.

Don’t hold your breath, is all we’re going to say.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
