Here Comes amiibo Tap!

Who likes free gaming? Or more accurately, who doesn’t like free gaming? People we don’t understand, that’s who. In just a few days, the Nintendo Download update will offer free gaming on the Wii U and 3DS through a feature called amiibo tap: Nintendo’s Greatest Bits.

If you saw the Nintendo Direct earlier this month, you may recall a brief explanation of what this is. It’s a Wii U app that will offer up to 30 different demos of Virtual Console games with just a tap of an amiibo. It’ll load up random snippets of games from any amiibo, up to three minute “scenes”, so even folks with just one amiibo can certainly partake.

Along with these entertaining demos, an eShop demo will arrive for Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition. We were highly entertained by the demo we played at this year’s PAX East, so we recommend checking it out if it interests you.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
