At last week’s E3, Ubisoft announced Just Dance 2016 during its Media Briefing—not unexpected in any way, but there was a surprising new element added to the upcoming game.
First off, it’s heading to the Wii. Yes, the Wii, once again keeping this game franchise running on Nintendo’s old hardware. As for the Wii U, the game will support Just Dance Unlimited, like it does on other consoles.
Just Dance Unlimited is a streaming subscription service that has users pay a monthly fee for a nice pile of extra tracks and content.
The concept is to keep players engaged and playing (and paying!) over the course of the year, and with the Wii U, we’ll also see support for the Just Dance Controller App. The app actually makes use of smartphones, turning them into camera sensors to track your performance by holding the phone in your hand as you dance.
Just Dance 2016 will arrive this October.
