Wreck-It Ralph 2 Confirmed

If you didn’t see Wreck-It Ralph when it came to theatres in 2012, you missed out on a fantastic offering. The movie was essentially the story of a video game villain who decides he wants to be the hero, and his journey to do so… and the mayhem it causes along the way. Despite the somewhat trite-sounding premise, it actually worked and there were plenty of videogame character cameos to boost the excitement levels: Bowser, Pac-Man, Q*bert, and many more.

The movie was a critical success, but a sequel was up in the air as Disney isn’t known for its sequels to original animated films (that’s usually Pixar’s bag). However, at the recent Galway Film Fleadh, the voice of Wreck-It Ralph (John C. Reilly) confirmed that he’s been signed to return for a sequel.

We do know that Disney wants Mario in a cameo in the sequel film, after only really getting a side-mention and pseudo-cameo in the first one. Will we see even more Nintendo characters appearing in this instalment? Certainly there are many, many possibilities here.

The film may hit theatres as early as 2016, but we’ll post if we hear additional details about timeline or release.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
