Nintendo TVii Service Ending Soon

It’s time… not that you’d even notice if we didn’t tell you about it. What are we talking about? It’s the Nintendo TVii service, which will fold in North America on August 11th, three years after launch. We’ll also be saying goodbye to the TVii Miiverse community, which you can read about in the announcement below:

You may or may not recall that the service was launched a month after the Wii U’s release, December 2012 here in North America, but that it never actually made it out of the gate in Europe… which may explain the decision to remove it and put those resources elsewhere.

Next month there will be a system update for the Wii U that will remove the TVii functions from the GamePad, presumably removing the icons as well.
