Holiday 2015 Still Target for Shantae: Half Genie Hero

It was only a few weeks ago at PAX Prime that Nintendo Fire had a chance to check out Shantae: Half Genie Hero, and we thought the game looked pretty good for all the waiting we’ve done for this title. The game was originally slated for release in October 2014 (after being funded by Kickstarter), but was delayed so that the WayForward team could ensure a polished game would make its way into your hands.

Yesterday, Nintendo published a video of an interview held at PAX between Damon Baker (Nintendo of America’s indie guy) and Austin Ivansmith of WayForward.

We’ll post the link to the video below, but essentially, this Shantae game will be the first in the series to have been built for a home console rather than a handheld system, and the amount of work put into its creation is staggering—hand drawn animation, for one.

In the interview, you’ll hear that the game is still planned for release in Holiday 2015…however we get the impression that WayForward is dedicated to working on the game until it’s completely done and they’re happy with the final product.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
