Nintendo’s First Smartphone Game Delayed

Miitomo, Nintendo’s first free-to-play mobile title, has been giving a delayed release date following a special strategy briefing for company investors, held in Tokyo. Nintendo’s CEO and President Tatsumi Kimishima revealed the news explaining that they need additional time to “promote and explain” the game, which will not begin until after the holiday season.

The new release date is March 2016. Miitomo will have IAP for add-ons, and has been explained as a game that encourages people who are shy to share information about themselves. We’re not entirely sure what that means either, but it sounds a little bit like a mega-Streetpass experience for your mobile phone.

There are four additional smartphone games planned for Nintendo’s mobile offerings, and these will be paid download titles.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
