Nintendo Direct: Final Fantasy Explorer’s Collector’s Edition

It’s been confirmed in the Nintendo Direct that Square Enix has released details regarding the incredible collector’s edition setup for Final Fantasy Explorers.

This spin the traditional Final Fantasy gameplay gives greater weight to adventuring in co-op mode, and is sure to be a unique instalment for fans of the franchise.

The game will arrive in North America on January 26th, and the Collector’s Edition is a sight to behold. Here’s what you get:

  • 32-page artbook feat. illustrations by renowned artists Yoshitaka Amano, Gen Kobayashi and Toshiyuki Itahana
  • “Songs for the Journey,” a 20-track music soundtrack sampler comprised of tracks by celebrated Composer Tsuyoshi Sekito
  • Themed FINAL FANTASY EXPLORERS Nintendo 3DS hard case
  • Exclusive box packaging, featuring the artwork of series concept artist Amano
  • Codes for exclusive weapons, these include Venus Gospel from FINAL FANTASY VII, Death Penalty from DIRGE of CERBERUS®: FINAL FANTASY VII, Crimson Blitz from LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII, and Thyrus from FINAL FANTASY XIV.

If you want this, you’ll have to pre-order it in the official Square Enix store only, and it will set you back $69.99. The regular game can be purchased by itself for $39.99USD if that’s too steep for you. The Direct also confirmed that the DLC released in Japan for the game will be released in North America for free.
