Regardless of how you feel about it, Metroid Prime: Federation Force is only a few months from release…but there’s not a ton of info out there about it. We told you what we knew after a demo at PAX East, but there’s been little said about it since then. We’re cautiously optimistic that it’ll be better than the demo, and certainly better than the travesty that some angry Metroid Prime fans think it will be.
We have had an announcement from Nintendo of America, however, that the game will have amiibo support—scanning in certain Super Mario series amiibo will give you a custom paint job in-game for your Metroid Prime: Blast Ball mech!
And if you scan in the Samus or Zero Suit Samus amiibo in Federation Force, you’ll receive an upgraded mech suit that has extra firepower. What that means exactly is revealed a little better in a trailer released in Japan, but we think you’ll get the idea. Whether this sways you in favor of the game or not, well, we’ll leave that up to you.
