Time to Book Your Trip to Japan! VR Mario Kart Has Arrived

It wasn’t long ago that Bandai Namco announced they’d be hosting a VR version of Mario Kart Arcade in their VR Zone (Shinjuku, Tokyo), and if you thought you were excited by the idea after the announcement, well…footage is here, and it’s spectacular.

In Mario Kart VR, players can physically throw weapons at each other with the motion-sensor controllers, putting you virtually inside the cart as you snake the corners to avoid those dastardly blue, red and green shells—among all the other nasty baddies out to stop your cruising.

Sadly, this is a Japan-only release, and there have been no announcements regarding plans to bring it outside of that country, so if you want to play…you’ll need to start booking flights.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
