Goodbye, Miiverse?

If you’re still regularly using your Wii U, you’ve probably received the most recent system update which brings the system to 5.5.2… but you probably didn’t mine the data (as some are wont to do) and discover this small hint that points to the end of Miiverse in the near future:

“The Miiverse service has ended. Miiverse and any software features that make use of Miiverse are now unavailable.”

Back in 2012 when Miiverse began, it was a big deal for Nintendo and they pushed the feature in a variety of ways. But with Miiverse not supported on the Switch, it was suspected that it’d be only a matter of time before Nintendo said goodbye to its not-quite-as-successful-as-they’d-hoped, quirky little social network.

It hasn’t been made official yet, but we suggest you start getting emotionally ready to say goodbye.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
