Keep Gaming Even While Unconscious With Pokémon Sleep

The Pokémon Company has revealed that they’re in development of a new app, called Pokémon Sleep.

While you may be looking at the date of this post and wondering why it doesn’t say “April 1st”, that’s because this is a real game that’s coming to your mobile app store sometime in the near future, with Nintendo of America and Niantic’s fingerprints on it.

This app promises a “gameplay experience unlike any other” that functions by tracking the user’s sleep patterns, working alongside a new device that was also revealed called the Pokémon GO Plus+. It’s an accessory that works as a regular Pokémon GO Plus during daytime, but at night tracks sleep using its embedded accelerometer that transmits data to your smartphone via Bluetooth.

The app is being developed by Sleep Button, the team who also brought us MagiKarp Jump, and will arrive in 2020.

Pokémon GO is also running a special “Sleeping Snorlax” event in celebration of this announcement, so get on that if it’s your jam.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
