Game & Watch Returns for Super Mario’s 35th

One bit of news we wanted to cover separately from the 35th Anniversary Direct that Nintendo gave us was the special Game & Watch system releasing in November, as part of Super Mario’s 35th anniversary celebrations.

Not quite the same as what you may have used in decades past, this updated version is based on the original 80’s LCD-based handhelds, but with a color display and D-pad. Proud owners of this device will enjoy playing Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, and Game & Watch: Ball.

And don’t worry—you’ll be able to use this one like a clock too, just like the originals.

According to Nintendo, the device will contain 35 Easter eggs and hidden secrets in honor of Mario’s 35th.

It launches on November 13th, 2020 for $49.99USD, and will be a limited edition product.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
