The Hyrule Historia is an art book combined with a backstory of the Zelda games and the world/worlds that it inhabits. It was released for the 25th anniversary of the first Zelda game way back in the original Nintendo. There have been some interesting tidbits already revealed, from a proper timeline of the series to the translation of a language used. But now there’s something else that’s even more interesting, though unlikely to be a shock to any Nintendo fan.
From page 239, there’s a quote from Eiji Aonuma:
The long sailing time of creating Skyward Sword, a game to
celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series, has just come to
an end. The voices of those who’ve played it from around the world
reach us. We hear their admiration comments, and their criticism too.
All those voices become energy for the next voyage. Well, to tell the
truth, we’ve already set sail in a new voyage.
Given that there’s already been a Wii U Zelda announced, this would seem to hint towards a new Zelda title for the 3DS, to follow up The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. I’m assuming it will be in the more modern style, and less of the DS titles like Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, but who knows? Any news will be right here, as soon as it happens.
