No one saw this coming… but one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year, which promised us an intriguing blend of 2D and 3D perspectives, has been delayed. After the footage everyone saw at the Nintendo 3DS showcase at E3, the fall 2012 released wasn’t ever questioned, but a press release from Konami concerning their Gamescom display said this:
“Konami’s resurrection of the Castlevania series continues, as the breath-taking Castlevania: Lords of Shadows series heads to Nintendo 3DS in 2013 with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate.”
It’s surprising and a little disappointing to hear that the game has been pushing from Fall 2012 to sometime in 2013, but speculation online is that the publisher may be looking to avoid the veritable slew of releases coming this fall. Still, with a playable build at the Eurogamer Expo, this news comes as a shock to Castlevania fans who’ve been waiting eagerly for the next instalment of this series.
