Earlier this week, there were rumors circulating about the possible end of the magazine Nintendo Power, and as of today those rumors have been confirmed.
Nintendo has issued a brief statement that clarifies the future of the magazine, though no reasoning yet as to why has been given for the fans—though doubtless the decline in magazine readership for the industry across the board had a significant impact on the decision.
The statement:
“We can confirm that the December issue of Nintendo Power magazine will be its last.”
There have been some additional rumors that the company who runs the magazine, Future US, might consider a digital-only edition of the magazine, but that statement above doesn’t appear to leave any leeway for additional work on the magazine at all.
