Yes, I know that title made very little sense, but bear with me.
Remember how on the Wii, there were several instalments in the EA Tiger Woods game series? They weren’t visually stunning by a long shot, but being able to use the Wii remote for gameplay made an enormous difference in terms of an immersive experience. More realism, more fun for golf fans.
Well, it doesn’t matter how much fun you had, because you don’t get to have it anymore. It doesn’t look like the Tiger Woods games will be coming to Wii U, according to a statement EA made to Kotaku:
“We’re currently focused on delivering a great Tiger Woods PGA Tour experience for our fans on the Xbox 360 and PS3, where we have a great opportunity to connect fans to the real world of golf and each other. We don’t have any further platform announcements at this time.”
By virtue of the fact they didn’t name the Wii U, things don’t look good for Tiger Woods prospects on the Nintendo platform. It’s too bad, because if you remember this segment:
from Wii U promos last year—where you could put the GamePad on the floor and tee off of it with the Wii remote—it looked like the system was going to have enormous potential for golf simulation games.
