In a developer interview released as part of Nintendo’s E3 participation, Atsushi Inaba of Platinum Games speaks about the upcoming Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U, and how the Wii U’s controller has contributed significantly to achieving new levels of gameplay for the title.
In the interview, some details were given on the core mechanics of the game, including Umbran Climax, which is Bayonetta’s new skill. This skill allows Bayonetta to use a super attack of pent-up magical power—the move offers a “release” from the “pressure of the game” that builds up until the moment you use it.
Inaba explains how he believes Platinum is one of the best companies in the field, which will be proven by the game.
When it comes to the GamePad—and people asking, “how can you play an action game with a stylus?”—the controller has allowed them to take Bayonetta 2 and action games in general to a new territory.
The game will have plenty to offer to fans and newcomers alike—learn more by watching the interview below!
