Holy schnikes, Batman… remember how we told you that Mighty No. 9, the Comcept studio project from Keiji Inafune had a Kickstarter campaign… and how they needed hundreds of thousands of dollars in the remaining 48 hours or so to be able to reach the stretch goal that included a 3DS version of the game?
Yeah, uh… it reached the goal. In fact, it kicked that goal’s butt so hard, we’re still reeling over here at Nintendo Fire. This means that both the Wii U and the 3DS goals were met, so we’ll be seeing this new game from Mega Man franchise creator Inafune on Nintendo consoles.
The target release for the game is in the distant future, however—April 2015 is the projected date, though it’s doubtful that anyone is going to want to this game rushed. Based on the support that fans of Inafune have shown to his new project, they’ll be willing to wait to make sure this game is perfect.
The Kickstarter campaign ended at $3,845,170 raised, with a good chunk of that final change coming in a late surge of donations (and upped donations!).
