On Wednesday, a 25-year-old Japanese man was arrested in connection with online death threats made toward Nintendo executives. Sankei News has revealed that the arrested suspect used Nintendo’s online question form to send his death threats, even naming various staff members that he wanted to kill. These names have not been released.
The suspect, whose name has also not been released, was arrested by police in Tokyo on Wednesday morning, and reports have stated that he admitted to his actions while in custody. Another charge against him came for writing messages on Nintendo’s website, including one which read:
“I’d planted bombs at Nintendo headquarters, tomorrow afternoon they’re going to blow up, Nintendo go bankrupt.”
Police were able to track the suspect down using his computer IP address.
