PAX East 2014: Confirmed – Watch Dogs Not Playable

Although Ubisoft mentioned last week that they wouldn’t have a playable demo of Watch Dogs available at PAX East 2014, we were holding out hope that perhaps they’d get something together and surprise us all. Turns out, no.

It’s a bizarre turn of events, considering that the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3 versions of the game will release on May 27th—that’s only a month and a half after PAX East ends, and this con would be the perfect time to showcase the highlights of the game and get some fantastic publicity.

Does this mean there are issues with development, or last-second problems they’re trying to work around? It’s not good news from where we’re standing, but then again, we’re still waiting on the Wii U version… and right now, we’re just crossing our fingers that the Wii U version doesn’t get cancelled.

Ubisoft says we’ll get it… eventually. I guess we can only hope. Then again, we have no idea if the game is even worth the effort, and considering we can’t try it out this weekend, I guess it’s a toss-up either way.
