Don’t Panic! Mutant Mudds Update Doesn’t Actually Break Your Game

Hey now! If you have a 3DS eShop copy of Mutant Mudds, it’s time to head back into the shop and download your free update! The update adds 20 Ghost levels that were originally introduced to the Wii U version of the game, titled Mutant Mudds Deluxe.

This update rebrands your 3DS game to have the “Deluxe” suffix, but there’s a bit of a downside—the update has caused a bug that was initially thought to break save files. Now, this issue hasn’t been reported 100% across the board, but you may discover that some counts—like collectibles and diamonds—get a little jumbled in your data. You may also be unable to access your extra playable character from the unlocked “Grannie” content, which makes some levels unaccessible.

But before you panic, here’s what Renegade Kid had to say: They’re looking into the issue, but in the meantime, just play the game. In fact, if you access your save file and play through the first Ghost level (get there through the mirror in the middle of the screen) you’ll be granted an end credit teaser… which, for whatever bizarre reason, fixes the issues.

It’s a weird fix, and doubtless there will be a real fix in the near future, but for now? Don’t panic, and just play the game… and all will be well.
