PAX Prime: Panels of Interest (Saturday)

While there are no Nintendo-specific panels happening at PAX Prime this year, we’ve gone through the program and highlighted several panels each day that we think might be of interest to our readers. This may be due to content, the list of panelists, or just general thematic ties.

Please remember that these suggestions are entirely subjective, and we encourage you to flip through the program on your own to find things that interest you—but perhaps our suggestions will cause something to jump out at you that you wouldn’t otherwise have noticed!

  • Sphinx Theatre: Level Up! Turning Your Geeky Hobbies into Geeky Careers (10:00am-11:00am)
    • “Let us show you how you can turn your geeky hobbies into a career! There are lots of people who boldly (or something accidentally) strode out and made their part-time passion into a full-time career. Hear stories and tips from our panelists of photographers, seamstresses, video producers, and more about how to change your passion to your livelihood.”

  • Wombat Theatre: Building Your EPIC Cosplay Costume from A to Z (11:30am-12:30pm)
    • “This panel of cosplay master builders will discuss building your next epic cosplay costume from beginning to end. We’ll take your dream from concept to reality covering patterns and design, selecting the right materials, construction techniques, how to finish them, and all the tips and tricks you’ll need along the way.”

  • Paramount Theatre: Autograph Session: Keiji Inafune (5:00pm-7:00pm)
    • “Meet the creator of Mega Man and more recently Mighty No. 9 and Gunvolt. A talented industry legend making time to sign things for you? We should all be so lucky!”

  • Wyvern Theatre: The Smash Brothers Community—Past, Present, and Future (9:30pm-11:00pm)
    • “The Smash Brothers” documentary took the gaming and eSports world by surprise in 2013—for the first time many learned about the passionate, deep history of the Smash Brothers community.
