If you’re a regular user of Miiverse—or even if you’ve popped your head in once lately—you’ve probably heard complaints about the redesign of Miiverse. But regardless of whether anyone likes it or not, it’s coming, and it’s going to arrive this week.
From what we’ve seen so far, the new layouts look clean and shiny, but there are comment limits and the design seems to move users away from the “chat” concept.
Nintendo has explained in the past that the new design is meant to prioritize the network at a place for gamers to interact directly around the titles they’re playing—and looking at the screens and in-progress game sharing, that certainly seems to be what they’ve done. But as with any change, there are going to be people who don’t like it and it’s going to cause divisions.
The new layout goes live on July 29th, that’s this Wednesday, regardless of anyone’s feelings on the matter.
What will the overall response be once this happens? We’ll have to wait and see.
