Hungry Shark World Chomps Down on eShop

There were some ripples in the news earlier this year that a game from Ubisoft Studio titled Hungry Shark World was heading toward the Nintendo Switch… but then we heard nothing more about it. Until now?!

Turns out Hungry Shark World is now available on the eShop for $9.99USD. Was the sudden appearance intentional? We’ll pretend yes. Originally, Hungry Shark World was just a free-to-download mobile title that arrived in 2016—and since then, the game has seen 500 million downloads.

Will any of this translate to the Switch? That remains to be seen. There are 25 sharks to control and upgrade, four worlds with unique environments to explore, and over 250 missions to complete. The gamepad controls have been specifically optimized for the Switch, and early reports are that the game actually is quite expansive.

If you’ve always wanted to control your own shark from birth through to… uh, becoming a giant sea monster, this might be the perfect game for you.
